Tee Ball Commissioner’s Letter

Welcome to Folsom Tee Ball!    Although this is my first time serving as a Commissioner, I have been coaching tee ball for many years and plan to continue coaching this year.

The FAA plans to hold the Folsom Tee Ball All Star game this year at the end of the season.   Unfortunately, due to scheduling problem with Folsom Community Day last year, the game was not held.   Since the children really enjoy the All Star game and the opportunity to mix the teams and play with their friends, the FAA plans on ensuring that they get to do so again this year!  After the All Star games, a ceremony is held where each player receives a Tee Ball All Star Medallion and Certificate of Participation.   The game is tentatively scheduled for June 3, 2008.

To participate in Tee Ball each player will need a Tee Ball Fielders Glove and either sneakers or cleats.   The child will need these items prior to beginning practices.  Bats and batting helmets are provided by the FAA however, you may purchase these items if you wish.  Teams will practice at least 2 times per week, prior to daylight savings time, and 2-3 times per week after daylight savings time.   The practices will be held on set days of the week convenient for the coaches.  Once games begin, there will be no “set” practices and the need for practice will be decided by the coaches.   Once games begin, each team will play at least 2-3 times per week (possibly a Saturday game).  There will be no practices or games held on Sundays or on holidays.

I anticipated a need for at least 4 Head Coaches/Managers this year.  If you are interested in Coaching or Managing a tee ball team, please email me at the FAA’s email - playball@folsomaa.com or mbartuccio@winslowtownship.com   I encourage every parent to volunteer for your child’s team in any way that your schedule allows.

Not only does your participation help keep our program strong, it puts a huge smile on your child’s face!

Thanking you in advance, Mike Bartuccio
                                                                   Tee Ball Commissioner
