SOFTBALL DIVISIONAL GOALS

Softball is divided by age groups/divisions.  Each division has different individual goals.  At every level the Managers & Coaches strive to teach teamwork, fair play and sportsmanship.  
The FAA’s Managers and Coaches guide our teams to compete with the expectation of having a successful season.  This goal is especially highlighted by our very successful Softball program!

The Rookie and U10 divisions of Softball are more of an instructional environment, with the Rookie team being the most basic of instruction.  The focus is placed more on learning the aspects of the game and having fun.  The success of these programs are based on these expectations rather then building a tradition of winning.  Being successful in these divisions is a bonus!   Every parent has the right to know what their child’s Coach hopes to accomplish during the season.  Once teams are assigned, parents should be sure to attend the first practice with their child in order to ask the Coaches questions that they may have.   More importantly, any way that you can volunteer to assist your child’s team to achieve their goals, is essential to the season.   Do not hesitate to advise your child’s Manager & Coach that you would like to help out in some way.   Your assistance will be greatly appreciated by the entire team!

In the U12, U14 and U16 divisions of Softball, building a tradition of success is also important.   Without a full sense of accomplishment that comes by having successes on the field, some players may feel less excitement about the game, perhaps lower their self-esteem and possibly result in their dropping out of the program.  A tradition of success is important but  does not mean that we place winning at the forefront of our endeavors.    The ultimate goal of our program is to guide the children to be the best that they can be, to aim for the highest goals, to stress the importance of fair play, sportsmanship and respect towards others.   This becomes especially important when the children participate in the older divisions.   At the older level, our program would not be successful if, one of our goals, was not to guide our team to winning games.
